About Ox!

Hey Everyone!

My name is Peter Jung and I am the founder of OX Calisthenics ^-^

A little about myself: I started calisthenics during the peak of COVID-19, initially because gyms were closed. However, I quickly fell in love with the sport. I began with daily push-ups on the living room floor, pull-ups on playground monkey bars, and handstands in the grass. Over time, I’ve progressed to learning advanced skills on my own. This journey of becoming stronger and mastering new skills has been an absolute thrill for me, and I want to share this feeling with as many people as possible. The joy of holding your first handstand for five seconds or achieving your first muscle-up is one of the most rewarding experiences anyone can have.

Enough about me, OX Calisthenics was initially planned at the beginning of the year of 2024 with the intention of providing a solution to a daily problem that all calisthenics athletes have. And that is... (drum roll...) having to deal with a messy, stuffed, unorganized, duffel bag that damages all of your gear inside of it. This lead to the first creation of the "OX. CarryAll Duffel Bag". While this unique bag is what lead to the creation of OX, all of the equipment have been created to be a strong and durable companion that will follow you along within your journey of becoming a calisthenics athlete.

You also might be wondering, why did I choose the name OX?

It's actually quite a funny story! It happened right after I finished my workout, and my equipment was thrown all over the ground. As I began tidying up, something clicked in my head when I noticed my rings and parallettes arranged in the shape of a word. The rings were stacked to form the letter "O," while the parallettes crossed to create an "X." It was completely mind-blowing, and I instantly fell in love with the idea. It represented two essential calisthenics pieces, with the added symbolism of a strong, elegant animal – the Ox. Strong, beautiful, patient, and hardworking, just like the Ox, calisthenics (a word derived from Greek) embodies both beauty and strength, mirroring the characteristics of this majestic creature.
